Our Responsible Investing Partners
Over the past several years, we’ve developed key initiatives such as Longfellow Advance, our nationwide DEI steering committee, and Longfellow LIFTS, our corporate giving initiative. Longfellow is always proud to support organizations in each of our markets that give back to the community by improving social and environmental issues.
Longfellow has been a member of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Greenprint Community of Practice since 2022, joining the global alliance of more than 130 leading real estate owners, developers, and investors that are committed to improving the environmental performance of the global real estate industry.
Our Responsible Investing Team
Longfellow’s core Responsible Investing team is tasked with establishing and implementing our strategy alongside our interdisciplinary Responsible Investing Committee. The Committee is also accountable for the successful implementation of our Responsible Investing Strategy within their respective verticals.
Avia Labs - Millbrae, California
In our San Francisco Bay Area portfolio is Avia Labs at Millbrae Station, which will be one of the first all-electric life science developments in the Bay Area. The project is designed to LEED Gold and Fitwel certification standards with a host of environmentally focused attributes that double down on the transit-oriented location – just steps away from Millbrae Transit Center and San Francisco International Airport.
Bioterra - San Diego, California
In our Southern California portfolio, we have Bioterra which will serve as a milestone for the region as San Diego’s first all-electric life sciences building. The project is designed to LEED Gold and Fitwel certification standards with solar PV panels, showcasing Longfellow’s commitment to sustainable building firmwide.
CamLIFE - Cambridge, United Kingdom
In the United Kingdown, CamLIFE’s first phase is targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A. The adaptive reuse design approach has led to a 40% whole-life embodied carbon reduction relative to a new-build net zero equivalent.
Via Labs - RTP, North Carolina
At 265,000 SF of Class A lab and office building space, Via Labs at Hub RTP serves as a state-of-the-art project built to LEED Gold and Fitwel certification standards. Equipped with exclusive amenities that connect scientific progress with the community, our partners at Via Labs will have access to destinations like Boxyard RTP, outdoor events, and walkable retail and residential offerings.
Pennovation - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Standing as Longfellow’s breakout development into the Philadelphia life sciences market, Pennovation Works will be 450,000 SF of dynamic lab and biomanufacturing space build to LEED Gold and Fitwel certification standards. Pennovation will feature a district steam system with no local combustion. The project also features a green roof to mitigate the heat island effect and support onsite stormwater management.
Durham ID - Durham, North Carolina
On the East Coast we have Durham ID, which is LEED Gold certified and features EV charging availability, a heat recovery loop system, and high efficiency equipment to save water and energy.
