Goldie Initiative – Women Leaders in Real Estate

Longfellow Real Estate Partners is a proud sponsor of The Goldie Initiative: Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate’s 2024 Goldie Gala. The event raised nearly $1 Million Dollars to support the organization’s mission to prepare women to advance as leaders in Commercial Real Estate by providing them financial and professional support. Longfellow’s own Managing Director of Capital Markets, Katie Kazas, currently serves as 2024 President of The Goldie Initiative’s Board of Directors. University of North Carolina – Real Estate Club

Longfellow is proud to host institutions of higher learning to help showcase the real estate and life science industries to the next generation of leaders. Executives from Longfellow’s North Carolina office helped host the University of North Carolina’s MBA Program / Real Estate Club on their Triangle Trek day. As the life science developer chosen, UNC students were invited to learn more about Longfellow, tour fitted labs, and get a look behind the scenes of the Discovery at Perimeter Park Campus.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Longfellow has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America affiliates in each of our United States markets (Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Greater Washington D.C., and New York City / Harlem) to support these groups through financial donations as well as expanded volunteer opportunities for our team in each of these regions. The Boys & Girls Club has a central mission that aligns with Longfellow LIFTS and our framework of impact through Community Investment, STEM Education, as well as Diversity / Equity/ Inclusion Initiatives.

Sempervirens Fund

Since 1900, the Sempervirens Fund, a non-profit organization in the Bay Area, has been dedicated to protecting and preserving sequoia sempervirens, commonly referred to as redwoods, watersheds, surrounding wildlife habitats, and other natural features of California’s Santa Cruz mountains.

Longfellow’s Redwood LIFE office hosted the Run for the Redwoods 5k where participants walked, jogged, or ran along the scenic Bay Trail with their coworkers. There were 126 donors, 88 walkers and runners, totaling 272.8 miles combined. With the help of our members, $2,390 was raised, surpassing 2023’s numbers.

Bike Anywhere Day

Longfellow proudly hosts a sponsored pitstop for bicyclists during the SANDAG’s Bike Anywhere Day. In 2023, riders stopped at our SOVA Science District for shirts, snacks, water bottles, and support as they took part in the annual event. Organized by the San Diego Association of Governments, the event reminds San Diegans to ride to work, school or the beach on 1,800 miles of bikeways connecting the San Diego region.  

Feeding San Diego

Established in 2007, Feeding San Diego is the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County and the only Feeding America partner food bank in the region. Feeding San Diego is on a mission to connect every person facing hunger with nutritious meals by maximizing food rescue.

Longfellow’s San Diego is proud to support the organization not only through maximized financial contributions and internal donations, but also through team volunteer shifts onsite.

North Carolina Central University

Longfellow is proud to have provided seed money to kick off the first ever real estate concentration at the HBCU in the nation with North Carolina Central University (NCCU).

In addition to the real estate concentration, Longfellow continues a strong partnership with NCCU, including our paid internship program that has been established for college students to experience 10-weeks rotating through key departments of Longfellow as well as multiple executives serving in NCCU’s mentorship program.

Drexel University Summer Program

Longfellow is a proud supporter both financially and through mentorship of Drexel University’s Summer Program that introduces high school students of color throughout the Philadelphia region to a wide variety of career options in commercial real estate.

“The NAIOP summer program that Drexel University hosted has pushed me to my full potential, and without it, I wouldn’t be the person I am today,” one former student said. “The program taught me how to reason and problem solve in different ways. It also exposed me to future jobs I had never considered before, and connections that are beyond powerful.”

Cristo Rey High School

Cristo Rey High School Students in Durham, North Carolina, were able to tour Longfellow properties and meet with our executive teams, helping introduce students to the commercial real estate and life science industries. Throughout our portfolio, public and charter schools, as well as various young professional groups are gaining this access that will help demystify these industries and make them more accessible to learners from a wider variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Habitat for Humanity

Longfellow has a long history of working with Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout our portfolio, including Habitat for Humanity of Wake County in North Carolina. Longfellow’s Durham office was proud to help build and improve homes in the local community through donations and a team volunteer day as well.

Pacific Beach Coalition

Longfellow’s San Francisco Bay Area office is a proud partner of Pacific Beach Coalition, collecting waste from Rockaway Beach in San Mateo. PBC is an organization dedicated to preserving the ocean, coastal habitat, and wildlife through advocacy and citizen action throughout the Bay Area.

Curebound’s Pedal the Cause

Longfellow’s San Diego office had the privilege to participate in Curebound’s “Pedal the Cause” which directly mobilizes San Diego to accelerate cures for cancer in our lifetime.

We ride, run, walk, and spin in honor of the people in our lives who have been impacted by cancer and turn our passion into fundraising to accelerate research with the power to save lives. Since 2013, thousands of survivors, fighters, family & friends, teams, sponsors and volunteers have joined together and continue to give 100%. With every mile, we are closer to cures.

Best Buddies International

Over the past several years, Longfellow’s Boston team has been part of Best Buddies International, getting involved year after with with the Best Buddies Challenge, a bike, run, and walk-a-thon to help raise critical funds for the non-profit’s mission.
