New York City

Over the past decade, New York City has accelerated its charge as a top life science destination for companies and talent, backed by outstanding universities and international interest. Capped by the New York City Economic Development Corporation announcement in the Summer of 2022, New York now tops the US in life science jobs and funding, as the city is home to 150,000+ jobs in the sector and more than 5,000 biotechnology businesses.

The major milestone showcases the transformative leadership from both the public and private sector to make New York a global public health research hub, including the City’s $1 billion commitment to boost the industry in 2021.

Recognizing the need to further develop space for the flourishing talent and investment pool, Longfellow is working with the New York City Blood Center to support a new research facility in the heart of the Upper East Side’s healthcare corridor, as well as the firm’s acquisition and redevelopment of Hatch Life Sciences in Long Island City.
